Scene-It Mountains

Here is a masculine(even if it has ribbon) card using a stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms. I'm so sad that they closed! But at least I still have my stamps to play with. :) I bought the jute/burlap ribbon stuff from Reasonable Ribbon. They have a pretty wide variety of styles. They even have Divine Twine now! I may have to get some... who cares if I haven't used what I already have? Pfffttt!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous friday! :)

Flat Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made a while ago. It's totally flat so it can be mailed easily. Pretty simple and easy to mass produce- which I seem to be doing a lot of lately!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll have more projects to show all week. Sorry for the long lapses in posting. You still love me though, right? :)

FTL #86

Another of my favorite blogs is the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. Every Friday is a new sketch(Fall To Layout) and examples. For these cards I used FTL#86 and cased Becky Carafa's beautiful card. These are completely flat for easy mailing and I'm pretty sure I need to make some more! :)

Owie Bag

I made this little Owie Bag for my friends little boy. I was talking to her on the phone and she tells me he was hit by a car! WHAT?! He's fine. He's got a few scrapes and some bruises but otherwise is perfectly fine. I guess he was riding his bike and a car backed up out of their driveway and hit him. Luckily the driver was going really slow and it more just kind of tipped him over. Anyway, I had to do something for the poor little guy, so I sewed up this little bag full of rice that he can keep in the freezer for an ice pack or warm it in the microwave for heat therapy. Stamped a quick tag for it, tied some ribbon on and it was ready to go!

Needless to say, we've had a bike safety lesson at our house. Sheesh! Scary stuff! Thankfully it was just a minor accident and everyone is fine. Today might be an excellent day to have a safety lesson at your house too! :)

Gotta run, thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Card- Inside and Out

Another card I did the inside on. I've recently been put in charge of sending out birthday cards to all the sisters in our church. This one went out this week. I'm sure I'll be making lots more like it to send out this month!

Now that the event is over, I took down the Alzheimer's widget. Over $6000 was raised for Alzheimer's research! Wow. That is simply amazing to me. :)

Thank you for stopping by, I'm off to start another week!

Time for Tea

I was asked to make some invitations for a Tea Party! What a fun idea for a birthday party! This is what I ended up coming up with-

I paper pieced the teacup and used a combination of stamps to finish it up- CHF- Comforting Hugs, Stampin' Up!- Everyday Flexible Phrases and Martha Stewart- Christmas Invitation set and Pattern Blocks. The patterned paper is Imaginisce. And the lace is some I found at the craft store and thought it would be perfect with the theme.

Here's a close up of the lace and tag-

Thanks for visiting! Tomorrow is CBCChallenge day so make sure you stop back!

Sympathy Card

Unfortunately I needed a sympathy card last week for a friend who's Mother In Law had passed away. I think simple is always the best way to go for these cards. But I could be wrong.

The cardstock and ink is PTI and the patterned paper is Graphic 45. The ribbon is just a scrap I had in my stash and the sentiment is from Little Paper Shop- In Loving Memory. The swirly stamp on the background is CHF- Rummage Bin. And that's pretty much it.

Hope you all had a good weekend, I had a super time at the expo. :)
Now just have to find time to play with my new toys!

CBCC #30- Sketch Challenge & St. Patrick's Day

Hey kids! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Did ya miss me? Sorry to be absent from the blog world for so long. My mojo took a bit of a vacation and life got busy. But it's challenge time again! This weeks challenge is to make a card using this sketch-

Here is my card-

I used paper from Pebbles Inc and the stamps are CHF Kim Hughes- Little Guy. The stars are American Crafts chipboard and I got the green ric-rac at Walmart.

Go check out what the other chicks did- links are on the sidebar! Then make a card and link it up to Courtney's blog. Be sure to use keyword CBCC30 if you upload to SCS or PCP.

And here's a little St. Patrick's card. Are you wearing your green today? :)

The stamps are Studio G stamps I picked up at the LSS. Easy peasy.

Thanks for visiting, I should have more to post this week. :)
Have a super day!

SC218- Spring Trees

It's the weekend! Woo-hoo!
Another sketch card today. This time using SCS sketch SC218.

The images are from the CHF Kim Hughes set- Spring Trees. And the paper is Imaginisce Twitterpated.

Not much new going on here. This weekend is Adam's birthday. He's turning 9! Ack. That makes me feel so old! LOL! I'll post a pic of his bday invites later, along with one of his gift. His very noisy gift. That's all I'm saying... :)

Welcome Spring

My new CHF stamps came this week! This is one of the new Kim Hughes sets- Spring Trees. Even though I've been sick, I couldn't not ink them up! I didn't feel up to coloring much, so I channeled my "inner Kim" and left them uncolored- if you regularly visit her blog, you know exactly what I mean. It's hard to see in the picture but there are little blue butterflies stamped all over too. The camera just didn't pick it up very well.

Faith

Faith makes things possible, not easy.

How great is that sentiment? Love this set- CHF Scene It Mountains.
I made the first card but wasn't sure I like it. So I made this one-

But now I think I like the first one better anyway! Yes, I know. I'm a dork. :)

This is short and sweet today. I got a phone call from Owen's preschool teacher yesterday while he was there because he was hysterically crying and holding his ear. So, off to the Dr we rushed. He's got an ear infection in both ears. He seems to be doing pretty well, once we got some Ibuprofen and ear drops in him. Now to wait for the antibiotic to clear it up. Good times, I tell ya! Have a great Wednesday!

Owen's Thank You's

I decided I should probably start working on thank you cards for Owens birthday. Now that's its been a month. ;)
I used a sketch from I{heart}2stamp and came up with this-

I like it but in the name of mass producing I simplified it to this-

The paper is KI Memories and the dino is from CHF- Kim Hughes Little Guy set.
Really I like both of them. But since I have so much coloring to do, I will probably go with the simpler layout. Because I'm lazy like that. :)

So, how is everyones Holiday Hoop-la coming along? We are done shopping(well, DH isn't. I don't think he's even started.) have some wrapping done, most of the projects done and now it's time to relax(I think). I have a couple things to post, but like I said before it will be sparse here until after Christmas. Have a great weekend!

Sketch Book 2

Here is the other sketch book for my other nephew. The alien is also from CHF- Kim Hughes Little Guy set. I love the belly on this cutie. I'm always looking for great boy stuff and this set is perfect. :)

Well, I'm off to take boys to school. Maybe I can take a nap....

Sketch Book

This is a sketch book for one of my nephews. He and his brother love to draw, and they're pretty good to boot. So this is what I made him for Christmas. I made one for his brother too, but you have to wait until tomorrow to see that one. Anyway, they will each get a sketch book of their own and then to share, we are giving them a ream of paper, pencils, glue and some other artsy-odds-n-ends.

The little monster guy is from CHF- Kim Hughes Little Guy set. Such cute boy images. :)

You Are Appreciated

Super easy card. Stamps are from the CHF Kim Hughes set, Making the Grade. Ink is the 2 new PTI colors from October.

And now lets talk about RESPECT. First of all, you guys are no help! Just kidding. It's hard to define it in a way for children to understand. But after much Google-ing, here is what I came up with-

I printed it out on cardstock and am going to hang in the living room(I think) where hopefully it will serve as a reminder to everyone who sees it, that we all deserve respect. :)

And now I'm off. Its preschool day which means I get 2 hours all to myself. Hmmmm, what shall I do? Any ideas?

Chicken Soup

Just a cute little tag on a can of Chicken Noodle Soup. Seriously, I promise this is the last project with this set for a while. :)

I made a template for the tissue holder and attached it at the bottom of the post. I also have a printable pdf that you should be able to just print, cut and score. But I can't attach that here. So, if you want it that way, shoot me an email- there's a link over on the side bar.

Tomorrow is CBCC day, make sure you come back and check out this weeks challenge.
Have a great Monday!

Tissue Holder

I totally should have had this in my purse last night. DH and I went to see Fireproof. Wow. That's pretty much it. Just wow. Honestly I don't even have words to describe how the movie made me feel. But I will say that it was really good. Really.

The box I made myself. It holds a little travel size package of tissues. I just measured all the sides
and messed with it until I got it the way I wanted. I want to make more of these so I suppose I probably should make a template or something.

The paper is more old Chatterbox from my stash. The tissues stamps is CHF. The box closes using a Basic Grey magnetic snap. I only used one side of the snap and put a brad under my tissue image. The prongs from the brad stick to the magnet enough to keep it closed. I know I read that tip online somewhere. But I can't remember where. It's a good way to make those magnets stretch. Especially since it's getting harder for me to find them. :)

Well, that's about it. I've got to go get Adam packed for his sleepover and I still have to finish grocery shopping. I never did get it done. Actually I don't think I ever have the grocery shopping done. It seems there is always something I forget. Regardless of how much I plan! :)
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

***ETA*** I made a template/instructions for the tissue holder if you want it. Just click on the picture to enlarge and then right click to save it. Let me know if you have any questions or if you want it in a pdf, I will email it to you.
Thanks!

Feel Better Soon

Last card from my CHF Comforting Hugs set. For now. :) Are you sick of this set yet? Because I still have more stuff I made with it. I'll just try and post some other stuff in the mix so you don't get bored! I made this card for my grandpa a while ago. He wasn't doing too swell so I thought this might make him feel better. The paper is Chatterbox and I've had it forever. Chatterbox used to be my go-to company for paper. And now it is so hard to find. Oh well. What do ya do?

The field trip was fun but cold. The kids all had a good time though and Owen only changed his mind about 20 times before he settled on the perfect pumpkin! LOL! And the nice farmer that ran the place gave all the moms an ear of Indian corn "for our patience"! He was too funny!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone! I'm off to the grocery store so my kids can eat! :)

CHF Hello

Seriously simple card using the Mocha Chica set. I lifted the idea from Kim Hughes herself. :)

It's Thursday... what are you up to?
Today I have to get everyone off this morning, then run as many errands as I can while Owen is at school. I spent last weekend cleaning my carpet in the living room and now I am trying to find a reasonably priced rug to go in the entryway. Anyone seen any good ones?

Have a great day!
