The Lorie-Dani Project #5

It's time for another Lorie-Dani Project! Remember, this is where my friend Lorie and I give each other challenges in order to keep us creating? Fun stuff! This week was Lorie's turn to choose and her challenge was to make a card using a Cuttlebug type embossed background.

So I pulled out my Bug and got to work. This came together pretty quickly. I cut the patterned paper down to size and then embossed it with the Friends Forever folder. Used my trusty sanding block to distress it. Tied on some white wrinkle ribbon. Popped up my panel with some dimensionals and called it good.

Make sure you visit Lorie and check out her fabulous card. Because it will be just that- fabulous!

Now here's a picture of my craft table when I sat down to make my card last night.

Um, yeah. It's a disaster. I cleared about 8 inches off to work on and left everything else as is. I have got to find the top of that table! And soon!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to get busy this morning. I've got a dress shirt to iron. Adam's class is going to see a symphony and so he's got to dress up. It's sad to say, but I don't think I've ironed a shirt in probably 3 years. Sheesh. Hopefully I don't ruin it. :)

Ingredients!
Paper:White cardstock; MME patterned paper
Stamps:none
Ink: Versamagic Persimmon
Etc: wrinkly ribbon; embossing folder

The Lorie-Dani Project #4

Its time for another Lorie-Dani project! This time it was my turn to pick the challenge and I decided we should make a birthday card using a favorite color(s). I think I might have mentioned before that orange and green are 2 of my favorite colors. :)

This is the card I ended up with. I wish now I had used a darker ink so it showed better. But, it's done and whoever gets it will never know(unless they read my blog!). Now go check out Lorie's card. I just know she has something wonderful up her sleeve!

I've got a bunch of errands to run this morning, so I'm off! Have a super day!

Ingredients!
Paper: My Minds Eye patterned papers; misc cardstock
Stamps: Party This Way- Stampin' Up!
Ink: Memento
Etc: Divine twine

The Lorie-Dani Project- Birthday Melons!

Well, hello there! Did you all think I fell off the face of the earth? Nope, I'm still here. Just busy and uninspired. But my friend Lorie approached me last week about starting a bi-weekly challenge for the two of us to keep us creating. Of course I said yes, I love me a challenge! So starting today and every other Monday following Lorie and I will be posting a card. Lorie challenged us to make a summer birthday card for this week.

I went super simple- gotta ease back into my crafty zone! Just some cardstock, patterned paper and a bit of ribbon. But how cute would it be with a little package of watermelon candies as a birthday surprise?!

Thanks for stopping by, I'll be back on Wednesday with a new card. Be sure to head over to Lorie's blog to see her fabulous card!

Last week of July Viva la Verve...

July week 5s Viva la Verve sketch {twist} was to incorporate texture. I decided to add some fabric. That's texture-ish, right? And for good measure I also used some orange textured cardstock, some super wide stripey ribbon and some ric-rac. Too much texture? :)

Alright, I'm off. It's been a busy weekend and I'm way behind on everything- housework, email, grocery shopping, blog reading... like I said. Everything. :)

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

July Viva la Verve- week 4

Week 4's sketch had a {twist} of vellum. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even know where my vellum was! I found it though. :) I stamped snowflakes from Winter Wonder Remixed on the vellum in PTI's Vintage Cream and Scarlet Jewel inks. Pulled out a metal tag rim to frame it and got to add a Christmas card to the stash. Go me! I think this is the first one I've made this year. If I was smart I'd be doing Sparkle's weekly challenges. But I'm not. :)

Tomorrow is Verve's Anni-VERVE-sary blog hop and I'm all signed up, so make sure you come back for that!

Thanks for stopping by, have a super Friday!

Viva la Verve- I'm addicted!

Here is my card for the Viva la Verve sketch with a {twist} of score lines. I just used my ScorPal and made a grid pattern then sanded it lightly. Cardstock is all PTI and the patterned paper is a new K&Co pad I picked up at Michaels awhile ago.

Thanks to everyone for your congrats on my new venture! I'm excited and still a little nervous but it's definitely been fun!

Viva la Verve- Week 2

The second week of July brought a new sketch with a new {twist}. This weeks {twist} was to use either the Poppin' Pastels technique or the Burned Batik. I chose Poppin' Pastels. I started with a piece of Basic Grey paper from the Wisteria pad that had a subtle pattern. I stamped a couple of the flowers from Miracles Blossom on it in Versamark and then went over them with some bright pink chalk. Added some more BG paper, this time from the Porcelain pad. Stamped my sentiment from Floral Symphony, cut it out added a ribbon border. A bit more pink ribbon, a Doodlebug Paper Frill, a white button and I was done. Schwoo! :)

And I'd like to tell everyone thanks for laughing at me yesterday! At least it all turned out ok. And for those of you who don't know what an earwig is- Wikipedia. Ewwww.

Also the boys had their Dr appt yesterday. For now Owen doesn't need to go to the ENT Specialist. Our pediatrician thinks that he didn't have 3 ear infections in 6 weeks like it seemed but rather had one long lasting one that the antibiotics weren't taking care of. So for now we wait. Until he gets another ear infection. And pray he doesn't. :) And Adam of course is perfect. Can I say that about my kid? LOL! He's totally healthy and we're very thankful!

I think that's all. I'm off to the store, lots of errands to run today!
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is fabulous!

Viva la Verve

Have you checked out the Viva la Verve sketches over at SCS? I love them! Each Friday is a new sketch with a {twist}- an additional something to incorporate into your card. The {twist} for the first sketch in July was distressing.

The images are Verve and the patterned paper is Making Memories- Chloe's Closet from Michael's.

Hope you have a super day! I'm off to get the house cleaned up after a long weekend Thanks for stopping by!

More Verve...

I made this card for the Viva La Verve sketch the first week of May. Yep, a month ago! I was planning on doing all the sketches for the month, but well, that didn't happen. :)

The photo is kind of washed out, I need to come up with a better set up. Sigh. Oh well. The patterned paper is DCWV- Sweet Stack and the stamps are all Verve. The top of the cupcake is covered in Ranger Dimensional Pearls- Espresso. I think it makes yummy looking chocolate frosting. Mmmmm, frosting....

Last SOA Challenge...

for me at least! There's still time to join and do some challenges(there's tons to choose from!), pick up some freebies and enter for some great prizes! I ran out of time this week so this is the last of the challenges I was able to do. :(
All the fun can be found here- Stampin' Out Alzheimer's

This is for the Two By Two Challenge- use brown and pink(plus a neutral) and 2 types of embellishments. I used some Basic Grey patterned paper and for my embellishments I used the pink flowers and brown brads. Super simple. :)

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to the store this morning. Gotta stock up on things for summer! And I think I might stop by Archivers. Why? Because I've been saving my pennies to get a Scor-Pal and I finally have enough! Woo-hoo! Wow, I'm a dork. :)
Happy Saturday!

All In One Challenge

Here's another Stampin' Out Alzheimer's challenge card. This challenge was titled All In One. You had to make a card using one color, one ribbon, one stamp and one embellishment. Everything on my card is SU except the brad.

That's about it! Today is Adam's last day of school. And it's a super short one, only an hour and a half. Why do they do that? Seriously. Is it even worth it? Whatever. :)

Have a super Friday! Yay, Friday!

Winged Thing Challenge

Here's another SOA challenge card. This time the challenge was to make a card using "any winged thing". So I pulled out some American Crafts butterfly paper! The sentiment stamp is an old one from the $1 bin at Michael's. I've had it forever! But I love it.

Now I'm off to Adam's school. He's got his dance festival this morning and then tomorrow is the last day of school! Ack! I better figure out some projects for us to do this summer.

Have a super day!

Stampin' Out Alzheimer's!

Have you joined in the fun at Stampin' Out Alzheimer's yet? There's still time! Just a donation (as small as $5) will get you access to all the fun challenges! I even made it super easy to do, there's a donation box over on my side bar! Alzheimer's is a very, very important cause to me. Very, very dear to my heart.

Anyway, this is a card for the Mojo Sketch Challenge over at SOA. The image is Verve, patterned paper is Basic Grey Blush and the ink, cardstock and buttons are all PTI.

Thanks for stopping by, I'll have more to post from the SOA challenges all week!

LPS Challenge x2

Have you guys seen the super cute new digi images at Little Paper Shop? Oh.My.Gosh. Seriously adorable. Last Monday on their blog the challenge was to make a card using Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue and Old Olive. I printed out this cute Katie on a Mushroom image and colored it in. And then life interrupted and it sat on my desk until yesterday. At which point I figured I'd check to see what this weeks challenge was and combine the two if possible. Well, wouldn't ya know- this weeks challenge is to use one of the digi images! Done and done! So here is my LPS Challenge x2 card.

The papers are all SU and the ribbon is PTI. I colored her in with my colored pencils and blended them. Sponged in some sky and ground and I was done! Then I promptly stuck this card in the mail to a friend who's been under the weather. It's not everyday I can say I actually made and sent a card! :)

New Thanks!

This card is for this weeks Stamp Something challenge- "new".
So I broke out my new PTI stamp set Forest Friends and my new curly label punch and came up with this-

The patterned paper is K&Co, the punch is SU! and everything else is PTI.
Pretty easy card, not much to it. I seem to be drawn to clean and simple these days. :)

Just A Note

for Allison's AFSS32.

Courtney RAK'd me this awesome wide ribbon forever ago. But I'm such a hoarder that I haven't used it. Until now! LOL! The image is supposed to be a floral silhouette type image from CTMH. Don't know what happened to it. But that's what it's 'posed to be. :)

We are off this morning to go to an open house for Owens preschool. Yay preschool! That means 2 whole uninterrupted hours all to myself 2 times a week! Sigh. Whatever will I do?! Pfffttt! Like that's going to be hard to figure out!

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Challenge Day Revised

So, I don't know if you've heard or not. Sadly, Katie had to close down 3 Little Dreams. September will be the last kit to go out. I wish her the best in whatever she decides to do.

So, what does this mean for me and you? Well, no more design team work for me :( but we are still continuing with the challenges each week :). Now you can join in on the Created By Courtney Challenges that will be posted over at Courtney's blog. I'll have a sample here each week (we are still deciding which day. Tuesday? Friday? I'll let you know)and link you up to the rest of the challenge team. I think it will be fun, and no company requirements! Use whatever you want!

This week would have been my 2nd sketch challenge for 3LD. I thought this week was going to be the first week of Courtney's challenges, but we all got confused! LOL! So here is the sketch I did for 3LD-

Here is my card-

The color is a bit funky. I set it on my bright pink cutting mat and didn't even think about the reflection messing with the colors on my card. Oops. I also decided to follow Lorie's lead and go with a scripture for my card. The scripture sentiment reads-
Be careful for nothing;but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6

And here are some more examples from the new challenge team. I will add to the list as the rest of the team does any this week. I'll also be sure to update with all the deets so you can link up if you make something. We definitely want to see your creations!

Look Ma, I can see!

The eye Dr was fine. Got me some new eyeballs. The rest will be here next week. :)

I belong to a CTMH stamp group that meets every other month. Last month I ordered this set just for these stamps! LOL! I'm a dork. I just loved them.

The layout is from Julee's Mojo Monday sketch this week. The paper is really old Chatterbox that I had in my stash. Thats about it. Pretty self explanatory.

Well I better run, Adam thinks he needs lunch for school. :)
Have a great day!
See ya later alligator,
After a while crocodile,
See ya soon baboon! :)

Katie's Challenge

Katie challenged everyone on the team to alter the packaging of the clips/brads that came in our August kit. It had me stumped for quite a while! LOL! I had lots of ideas but couldn't figure out how to make them work. Then inspiration struck!

It's a Post-It note holder with pen! The small Post-Its fit right in there. I added some Making Memories flowers out of my stash for a little decoration. The pen is attached with one of the buttons from the August kit. First I ran some ribbon through the button then I used glue dots to stick it to the outside of the package and tied the pen on.

Stick this in your purse or in the car and you will always have paper and a pen when you need it. :) So handy!

Alright, I'm taking tomorrow off and will try and post something Monday but most likely it will be Tuesday! See you then!
