Belli Challenge #74- Sponsored by Creative Cuts and More

This weeks Belli Challenge is sponsored by Creative Cuts and More! Have you checked out their stuff? OMGosh! So much die-cut-goodness! The challenge is to make something Fall/Halloween themed.

I 'm always looking for Halloween ideas that are not candy. I know, I know. Halloween is all about the candy. :) Anyway... I stole- er... um... borrowed this idea from Courtney.

I used a Crayon Box die cut and decorated the outside of it. Inside is a couple crayons and some fun Halloween images to color. I stamped the images on some white scraps and trimmed them all the same size. Easy and guaranteed not to give you a sugar headache.

I also got this cool pumpkin tacky tape die cut. The die cut is all one piece but I wanted a bit of dimension. So I took off the top liner and cut it up to make the lines and stem of the pumpkin. Stuck the paper back on the tape and glittered away! Then I removed the paper again and used green glitter to fill in the rest. I stuck it to the top of a tin I've been hoarding forever, added some ribbon, stamped some leaves, filled it with candy and I was done! Makes a cute little treat, if I do say so myself!

All the challenge deets and more gorgeous die cut examples can be found on The Creative Belli Blog. The keyword if you upload to SCS or PCP is CBC74.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a super day!

Missionary Countdown

Owen's preschool teacher sent her oldest son on his mission for the LDS church this month. I found these countdown blocks at a local store and had to make some for her! I also included some simple cards for her to send. She cried when I gave it to her. I think that's a good sign, right? :)

Daisies

This is a birthday present for one of the amazing ladies in our church. She's an avid gardener and super sweet. Everything on the card is SU! except the ribbon. I even took a sheet of patterned paper that matched the card and wrapped it around the potted flower. It originally was covered in some rather ugly orange plastic type stuff.

Alright, I'm off! Lots to get done this week, hope your week is wonderful!

Dads Day Project

Hey there! Tomorrow is Father's Day, are you ready? I'm not! LOL! I still have a couple things to do. But here is what I made for my dad. I had to get it done early because he was headed out of town.

How about some Anytime Smores?!
The tag reads- Anytime Smores
No campfire? No problem!
Just grab a handful of this mix for that anytime, anywhere smores fix!

Hee, hee! The mix is Teddy Grahams, mini marshmallows and mini chocolate chips.
I used Cosmo Cricket Mr Campy papers, stamps and stickers. I was inspired by some Goldfish crackers we got at the store. They had chocolate and graham flavored fishies and then some tiny fish shaped marshmallows. It was very cute but I wanted something that wasn't fishes.

(Click on photo to view larger!)

Alright, I'm outta here! Got to get the boys started on their chores and finish up my Father's Day projects! Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher Appreciation

It's that time of year again, Teacher Appreciation Week!
I CASE'd this idea from Danni's Doodles.

I made 2 sets, one for each of Adam's teachers. I had him write a note inside the card telling each teacher what he enjoys most about being in their class. The cardstock and ribbon is all PTI and the apple paper is from SU, as is the apple stamp. And that's about it. :)

I'm still sick. George(DH) is sick. Adam came home from school saying his throat hurt. Owen still acts like he's sick too. We're going to see if we can get all 4 of us on antibiotics at the same time. Just for fun. Yep, I know- you're jealous. If you don't hear from me for a while it will be because I'm up to my ears in snotty tissues and Clorox wipes. And taking care of my family. And praying that this passes soon. :)

Final Week as Courtney's Guest Designer

Well, today's the last Friday in April. That means my final project as Courtney's Guest Designer. I decided I needed something to put the cards in that I've made with her buggie-digi-stamps.

So, how about a "Snail Mail Central"

I used part of a tutorial from Becky at Inking Idaho, covered it in K&Co paper, added some tags and you've got a place to keep all your mailing supplies! The cute snail is the digi-stamp Snail Mail at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. I created a PhotoShop document the size of the front panel for the mini-magazine holders. Then I shrunk down the snail a tiny bit and then added another, flipped, to get the 2 of them facing each other. I added my own text, printed it out and it made the perfect front for the project.

This is what the back and sides look like-

There you go! I'm thinking it might make a cute gift. Or, it might be cute on MY desk! :)
Big thanks to Courtney for letting me play with your stamps!
And thanks to all of my readers for stopping by!

Jelly Beans!

While at the Scrapbook Expo last month, Deb and I came across this fabulous new company.
My Cute Stamps! Seriously adorable. Seriously. I spent more money in their booth than I did the rest of the expo combined! LOL!

I'm in full-on Easter mode at the minute, trying to get everything done before Sunday. I thought the boys' teachers might like a little treat so I put these together:

The stamps are all from My Cute Stamps- Jelly Beans set. I used my Nestabilities to make the shape and scored them down the middle to make a bag topper. The ears would have been folded over so I took my exacto knife and cut the tops out before I scored them. The bags are from PTI and on the back of the topper is a spot for a little note to the teachers.

These were super fun to make! Now I'm thinking I might need to make some more to give our family on Sunday... if I can find time! :)

Thanks for visiting, tomorrow is another Created By Courtney day!

CBCC #32- Altered Box

***This post will stay at the top of my blog until Tuesday 4/7! Scroll down to see new posts!***

This week, your challenge is to alter something!
Courtney sent us all some boxes to alter for this weeks challenge.
I turned mine into a drink packet holder.

I love these little drink packets! They are awesome when you are tired of plain old water but don't want a soda. :) The paper is American Crafts and the fruit stamp is SU! Tart and Tangy.

Go check out what the other chicks made(links on my sidebar) and make sure to link back to Courtney's blog with your project for a chance to win a little prize from her. This weeks keyword is CBCC32 if you upload to SCS or PCP.

Now, how would you like a drink packet holder of your very own? I'm going to give this little box filled with drink packets to one of YOU! What do you have to do? Well, not much. Just leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite drink is. If you make an altered project and link it over at Courtney's blog, I'll put your name in twice. So, here's your instructions-
  1. Leave me a comment. Tell me your favorite drink. (earns you 1 entry.)
  2. Go check out what the other chicks made. Leave them some love.
  3. Make cool altered project.
  4. Link that project on Courtney's blog.
  5. Come back and tell me you participated. (Optional and earns you 2 entries.)
  6. Cross your fingers!
I'll announce the winner with next weeks Created By Courtney Challenge!
Good luck!

***Drawing is closed! Thanks for commenting!***

Another Planner

When my sister saw my cute planner, she decided she wanted one too. So I pulled out this American Crafts Teen paper and whipped this up. It's kind of fun, a little bit funky. Perfect for her. She works at the high school and is surrounded by teenagers all day. It's a great job for her personality!

Things have been crazy at our house and I've had no time to make anything new. This weekend my BIL is coming to stay with us and it's my DH's birthday too. So, I'll have just one more post this week- on Saturday. And then I won't be back until Tuesday with the new CBCChallenge. But, I hope you all get some crafty time in! Thanks for stopping by!

Billy Tin

It's Finally Friday! Yay!

How about a cute Billy project for a weekend send off?

I used October Afternoon papers and Dress Up Billy stamps to make this. The grass is a Doodlebug border that I colored in with markers. I stamped Billy and all his fun stuff on cardstock, colored it in and then adhered it to a magnet sheet. Then I cut out all those pieces! Ack. That was hard on the hands! But the important thing is that the boys love it. I think I'm going to stick it in the car and break it out when I need 2 minutes of peace and quiet! LOL!

Hope you have a great weekend, I get to go to lunch and a movie with my sister tomorrow and then Sunday we will probably watch the Super Bowl. How about you? What big plans do you have?

Dollar Spot Makeover

I'm always checking out the Dollar Spot at Target. And there is always something I have to have! I picked up a couple sets of polka dot cards (8 cards and envies for $1) and figured I could use them for something. Well, turns out they made great Thank You cards that were super quick-

I also picked up some 2009 planners.

I'm trying to be more organized and thought they might be handy. Add some paper, ribbon and embellishments and you have a personalized planner-
Now ask me how many times I've actually used these planners! :)
Eh, it was worth a shot!

CBCC is back!

The 3R's- Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
This weeks challenge (#20) is to take something you'd normally throw away and make a crafty masterpiece!

And joining us this week are 2 new "Challenge Chicks"- Welcome Holly and Maria G!

Now for my project-
I took a water bottle and turned it into a piggy bank.

Hee, hee! Isn't it cute!
I have to confess, I didn't come up with the idea on my own. I found it in a Martha Kids magazine.

So now it's your turn! Find something you'd normally trash and turn it into treasure! Link back to Courtney's blog so we can see, and the keyword for this week is CBCC20. Be sure to check out what the other "Challenge Chicks" made too, the links are on the sidebar.

And if you need some musical inspiration, Jack Johnson has an awesome song on the Curious George soundtrack called The 3r's. You can listen to it here!

Have fun!

Christmas Candles

I picked up some yummy smelling candles at a warehouse sale a couple weeks ago. I only paid $1 for them and they normally retail for $10! Woo-hoo! Gotta love a bargain!

So I wrapped some paper around the outside and glued it but didn't glue it to the jar itself so the paper can be removed. Got some of the little boxes of matches and covered them with paper, again the paper comes off. Then tied some ribbon around the whole thing, added a Christmas tag and called it done.

They will be for Adams teachers, neighbors, etc. Simple, cheap, quick. My kind of project!

Hope you all have a super weekend! I'll be back Tuesday for the last Created By Courtney Challenge for the year! :)

Christmas for Goobie

I'm pretty sure Goobie doesn't read my blog but just in case, STOP READING- if you are Goobie. Otherwise, continue on...

So I have a little sister. We call her Goobie. It all started when she was about 3(I think, Jenn correct me if I'm wrong). She has got to be the most responsible, creative, genuine, smart kid I know. At least for a 19 year old. :)

For Christmas I made her this necklace-

Here is a kind of close up- it's blurry. So hard to take a good pic of it-

Along with a set of these cards-

They are blank so she could use them for whatever she wants.

And it is all packaged up in this-

I hope she likes it. I wanted something funky but not too crazy. Simple but pretty.
What do you think, did I get it right?

Sketch Book 2

Here is the other sketch book for my other nephew. The alien is also from CHF- Kim Hughes Little Guy set. I love the belly on this cutie. I'm always looking for great boy stuff and this set is perfect. :)

Well, I'm off to take boys to school. Maybe I can take a nap....

Sketch Book

This is a sketch book for one of my nephews. He and his brother love to draw, and they're pretty good to boot. So this is what I made him for Christmas. I made one for his brother too, but you have to wait until tomorrow to see that one. Anyway, they will each get a sketch book of their own and then to share, we are giving them a ream of paper, pencils, glue and some other artsy-odds-n-ends.

The little monster guy is from CHF- Kim Hughes Little Guy set. Such cute boy images. :)

CBCC #17- Make an Ornament

This weeks Created By Courtney Challenge is to make an ornament-

I used my new Spellbinders Labels 1 dies to cut a chipboard base. Then I cut the same shape out of this cool shimmery blue paper from Target. The snowflake is a Cuttlebug die and I used Doodlebug Sugar Coated cardstock. Finish it up with a brad and some ribbon and you've got yourself an ornament!

Go check out the other "chicks" by clicking on their names on my sidebar. This weeks keyword is CBCC17, you know you want to play! Link back to Courtneys blog, we want to see what you've made!

Thanks for stopping by, sorry for my long absence! We got to spend some time together which was great and even better? Christmas for the boys is done! Woo-hoo! Of course I still have everyone else, but hey- it's a start! LOL!

CBCCTuesday # 16- Bagalope

Ok... I... umm.... I had to Google bagalope(hanging my head in stamping shame). I'd never heard of it before let alone made one. But I found some directions at Splitcoast and came up with this-

It was made from a regular A2 envie. Notice the wonky corners. And the poor stamping job. But look at that ribbon!

Ok, so then my OCD kicked in and I made this-

Much better. I used my new Verve stamps- Winter Wonder. This was my first order from Verve(I also got Cupcake Affair and Beautiful You) but I'm certain it will not be my last! This envie was 6x6 and I used Papertrey Ink colors. The ribbon is Sea Mist from Ribbons and Bows Oh My and it matches the Ocean Tides color almost perfectly.

If you make a bagalope with us this week, link back to Courtneys blog and be sure to use keyword CBCC16 if you upload on SCS. Also be sure to check out what the other "chicks" have done, they always blow me away.

Thanks for stopping by! :)

A Birthday, A Book, and A Confession...

Just a warning- this is a rather long post!

Wanna see my cute Birthday Boy? Here he is blowing out his candles-

We went simple- cupcakes, family only and lots of fun. :)

Here is my book-

Yesterday I went to a movie with my cousin(more on that at the end) and after we went shopping. I found a plain-ish notebook at Target for $2.49 and brought it home to give it a makeover and turn it into my Christmas book. I plan on using it for wish lists, project lists, etc. You know, all those lists and lists you make every year and wind up lost? Hopefully this will keep me better organized this year. I think I will add some embellishments to the front so it's not too plain but I don't know what yet. And I should have taken a picture of it before I altered it but I forgot. I guess I was too excited to get started. :)

And now for my confession. Hoo-boy, it's a doosy. But feel free to skip this. I won't care. In fact, I'd probably prefer it so that you all don't know what a colossal dork I am.

I'm sure you all have heard of the Twilight phenomenon gripping a hold of every teenage girl in America. So... I swore up and down that I was not going to read those books. I mean come on! Vampires? Uh-uh. Not my scene. Seriously. How lame can you get?

Then a couple months ago we took an unexpected trip out of state. The library was closed. So we stopped at the Walmart so I could pick up a magazine or two to read on the way. I grabbed some mags and a Nicholas Sparks book. Then I spied Twilight. I picked it up to see how much it was out of curiosity. It was only like $6 so I figured, what the heck? It's an 8+ hour drive, the book was 500 pages, at least it would give me something to do.

Well. Guess what? I was sucked in. Big time. I don't know why. But I was. Sigh. I read Twilight and then borrowed the next 3 from my cousin(who had borrowed them from her friend). I read those in like a week and a half. I couldn't stop. I don't know what came over me. It was crazy.

Now, where is all this going?
Oh the shame...

I went to the movie too. Yes I did. And on opening weekend, no less. And the movie was not as horrible as I expected. I was prepared for a complete stinker of a movie. Was it a fantastic movie just like the book? Absolutely not. Was it entertaining? Sure. Will I see it again? Maybe. Will I be reading the books again? Without a doubt.

And there you have it. My deep dark shameful secret. I'm a Twilight fan.
Can you all forgive me? :)

**Book and movie pics were snaked from the Twilight Saga site. Gotta give credit.**

Notecard Holder

Here is a little notecard holder I whipped up. Nothing fancy, didn't make it with anything in mind, just wanted to do it!

Here is the outside of the holder-

Here is the inside-

And the notecards-

That's about it for today. I have to get the house ready for Owens birthday party tomorrow. Have I mentioned I don't like housework? LOL! Oh well, the kid is cute, he's worth it! Actually it wont be too bad, I'm just a whiner.

Have a super weekend!
