Belli Challenge #67- Fathers Day Card

Oh my word! It's been an entire week since I posted anything! Ack! I've been a crafty slacker. But I'm back! :)

This weeks Belli Challenge was to make a Father's Day card using the sketch provided. I immediately knew what I wanted to do! I love it when that happens!

The image and sentiment are from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps- Cool Dude set, I colored it in with my Prisma markers. The patterned paper and ribbon is American Crafts from the Travel line(wishing I had picked up more of it too!), I'm pretty sure the star is AC as well.

Tomorrow marks the return of the Created By Courtney Challenges. We took a bit of a break but start again with a color challenge! Also, I've changed things up on the ol' blog. Let me know what you think! It's all Lorie's fault. She had to go and get hers all pretty! ;)

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Final Week as Courtney's Guest Designer

Well, today's the last Friday in April. That means my final project as Courtney's Guest Designer. I decided I needed something to put the cards in that I've made with her buggie-digi-stamps.

So, how about a "Snail Mail Central"

I used part of a tutorial from Becky at Inking Idaho, covered it in K&Co paper, added some tags and you've got a place to keep all your mailing supplies! The cute snail is the digi-stamp Snail Mail at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. I created a PhotoShop document the size of the front panel for the mini-magazine holders. Then I shrunk down the snail a tiny bit and then added another, flipped, to get the 2 of them facing each other. I added my own text, printed it out and it made the perfect front for the project.

This is what the back and sides look like-

There you go! I'm thinking it might make a cute gift. Or, it might be cute on MY desk! :)
Big thanks to Courtney for letting me play with your stamps!
And thanks to all of my readers for stopping by!

CBCC #35- Use that brayer!

This weeks challenge is to use your brayer. Uh. Well. I had to go buy one. Can you believe I've never actually used a brayer before? So here's my first attempt at it-

Papers are all SU! and the grass image is from the Sweet n' Sassy set- Dream Silhouettes. I inked the grass in Versamark and then embossed it. Then I took my brandy-new brayer and went over it all in Basic Gray ink. Punched out some butterflies with my Martha punch, added some ribbon and that was it!

Go check out what the other chicks have done with their brayers(links on the sidebar)! This weeks keyword is CBCC35 if you upload to SCS or PCP. And make sure to link back to Courtney's blog with your brayer creation for a chance to win a little prize.

Caught A Bug?

It's Friday! Can I get a woo-hoo?! Ack, I'm glad for the week to be over. :)
Today is my 3rd week as Courtney's Guest Designer!
Here is my card using Courtney's digital stamp- Gone Buggy.

The patterned paper is SEI and the die cut is a Boss Kut die I got from Cut At Home. The cardstock and ribbon is SU! and I grabbed a button from my stash to put on the sentiment. Then I took some Making Memories pearl paint and painted the dragonfly's wings to make them shimmery. So head over to Sweet n' Sassy Stamps and check out all the digital stamps- they are fabulous!

Thanks for visiting! This is it for me until Monday. We're going to spend the last few days of Spring Break doing some fun family stuff!

Lady Bug

Here's my second card as Courtney's Guest Designer! This time I used the Little Lady digi-image. I added the red brad for a nose and I colored it in with my markers. The paper is Piggy Tales again and all the cardstock is SU. The ribbon is Offray- I'm loving this super skinny grosgrain at the moment! And those green dots are Candy Dots from Pebbles Inc. They are just so cute!

My Announcement!

You guys ready for my announcement? Well, you know my friend Courtney? Shes got a super fun blog. And now she has her very own line of stamps at Sweet n' Sassy Stamps to boot! And she asked little ol' me to be her Guest Designer for April!

Can you believe it?! I'm super excited. And she's letting me play with her fabulous bug images! Here's my first card-

This adorable caterpillar looks fuzzy. Because he is! I covered him in green fun flock! And I had to add some googlie eyes. :) The paper is Piggy Tales and the cardstock is all SU.

I'll have a new project every Friday for the month featuring Courtney's cute bugs, so make sure you come back and see!

Have a fabulous Friday everyone! I'm off to the dentist(ick) but I'm hoping to squeeze in a trip to Joanns(wink)! Thanks for visiting!

CBCC #29- Inspired By Nature and Sweet n' Sassy!

Welcome to our first ever SPONSORED CBCCChallenge!
This weeks challenge is to be inspired by nature and is sponsored by Sweet n' Sassy Stamps! What does that mean? Well it means you need to make something inspired by nature and then link it back to Courtney's blog. And this weeks winner gets a free digital stamp image from Sweet n' Sassy! How cool is that?!

We chicks were all given this Luna Moth image drawn by the fabulous Chris Dickinson to work with this week(Thanks Korin!). You might be asking, what is so great about these digital images? Lots of things! You can resize them, you can print them as many times as you need/want and best of all? So easy on the bank account!

I have a confession. I'm slightly addicted to the digital images. I love regular stamping, don't get me wrong. But there is something satisfying for me to be able to print them in different sizes. And print them over and over again. Without trying to find my favorite ink pad on my messy desk. :)

Here's my card. I shrunk the image down a bit, then printed, colored and finished up the card.
I printed out the moth twice(ok, actually like 6 times. I need to pay better attention to my printer settings!) so I could layer it. And it's hard to see, but I went over the image with my clear Spica Glitter Pen so it's all sparkly. The sentiment is from PTI and the patterned paper is Basic Grey- Sultry(? I think?). The ruffled green ribbon is by Making Memories and it's so yummy! And in real life, the button actually does match. I don't know why it's so bright in this pic.

Now it's your turn! Go find some nature and be inspired by it, make a card or project, link it on Courtney's blog and be sure to use keyword CBCC29 if you upload to SCS or PCP. And then cross your fingers and you just might win yourself an awesome digital image! Be sure to check out what the other chicks have done too(links on my sidebar) for more inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

New Sketch On The Block

So the other day while blurfing, I stumbled upon a new sketch site. I love sketches. It's a sure fire way to get me out of my rut. Anyway, the site is Inspirational Card Sketches. And here's my card based on this weeks sketch-

The image is a digi image from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. And it is drawn by none other than my friend Courtney! The paper is 3 Bugs In A Rug- seemed fitting. :)

Well, I'm off. No preschool this week so I'm trying to find things to occupy Owen. He sure is bossy when he's bored! LOL! Thanks for visiting, have a super day!

Prayer Card

Ok. I found this paper on clearance a long time ago. It's My Minds Eye. And I seriously love it. Love it. The colors on this paper are totally me. If I could wallpaper my house in this paper, I would. Just looking at it makes me happy inside. :) Sorry, enough about the paper. The stamp is from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. Love them too. I'm just full of the love today.

Adam is out of school the rest of the week and Monday. He's going to my dad's house for a bit. They have a very close relationship. Every chance there is, Grandpa and Adam are having a sleep over. It's so awesome. :)

Have a Thrilling Thursday(ok, that was lame. But I can't think of another "th" word)!

Challenge Day- Stitching

This weeks challenge is all about stitching!
Here is my example using the September Bella kit-

Professafella is the add on for September. And yes I know you've already seen this card! :) Thats why I did another using the August Sweet n' Sassy kit-

Now break out the sewing machine! Or needle and thread! Or paper piercer and pen! The challenge is to use stitching somewhere on your project. Machine, hand, or faux stitching. Remember to use your 3 Little DReaMs kit, if you have one. If not(and why not!) please use Stamping Bella stamps or Sweet n' Sassy Stamps. Each time you participate in one of these challenges and upload a picture to the Yahoo group or to SCS (using keyword 3LDAUG) you get a chance to win a fabulous prize! If you have any questions, just ask.

Also, be sure to check out what the other DReaM Team-ers have come up with. They all have links over on the side bar. Everything I've seen so far is fabulous!

Oh, one more reminder- TODAY is the LAST day to pre-order your September kit! There is usually an extra or two but, they will be gone before you can blink! Plus there are some new shipping options, so go check it all out!

I'm headed out of town today but I have a post scheduled for tomorrow and will be back for sure on Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by!

It's Challenge Day!

Woo-hoo! Today's challenge is a sketch challenge.
Here is the sketch-

And here is my example-

If you have a 3 Little DReaMs kit, make sure to use it. We want to see what you make with the kits! If you don't have a kit please use Bella stamps or Sweet n Sassy Stamps for the challenges from now on. I know last week I said you didn't have to, but now you do. LOL! Just keepin' ya on your toes! ;)

When you complete your card for this weeks challenge, make sure you post to the Yahoo group and make sure if you upload to SCS, to use keyword "3LDAUG" so we can find you. Don't forget, the September kits are up for pre-order and they are both awesome! Great for back to school and fall.

Make sure you check out what the other Dream Team members have created also. Their links are over in my side bar. Along with the link to sign up for the Yahoo group if you haven't done that yet!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you make something with the sketch!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Who's ready for a challenge?

Today marks the beginning of weekly challenges for the 3 Little DReaMs Yahoo Group! Not a member of the group? You can be! There's a link over there------------>
Join us, it's going to be fun! A new challenge will be posted each Friday.

The Design Team Members will each have a month of challenges for you. August just happens to be my month. So today I present the first 3 Little DReaMs Challenge- Embossing! Heat embossing or dry embossing, whatever you would like. Here is my example:

All supplies are from the July kit. I stamped the dragonflies in VersaMark and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark, also, and embossed with white embossing powder. The pink paper on the bottom I ran through my CuttleBug with the Swiss Dots folder. Just a hint, textured cardstock is a bit trickier to emboss on, so take your time and don't rush the stamping. Make sure you get a good clean image before you put on the powder.

You don't have to use a 3 Little DReaMs kit to participate in the challenges, but if you have one might as well use it! Don't have a kit? Well, that's alright(I guess. ;) Only kidding) but go check out the kits and you will be impressed. There is an incredible amount of goodies in each kit! And today is the first day to order September kits! Hurry go get yours!

We would love to see what wonderful embossing creations you create! So please post it on the Yahoo group(we have a folder just for August challenges) or if you choose to post it on SplitCoast, please use keyword "3LDAUG" so we can find it and give you some love. Everyone who participates in the challenges will have a chance to win a prize! Yep, Katie has so generously agreed to offer a prize(of her choosing) to a winner each month! Yay!

Now break out that heat gun! Or CuttleBug! Or brass stencils! Or whatever you want to emboss with! Then let us see your awesome creations so we can OOOoooo! and Aaahhhh! over them!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Sorry for the excessive use of exclamation points!

Ready, Set, Emboss!

Glitter!

Here is my glitter card!

I don't usually do glitter. Not much call for it in a house full of boys! LOL! It was fun to make(and messy). I used some fun-flock on the cattails too, but I couldn't get a good pic of it. So it's furry and glittery. A bit much going on for one card but, that's alright! I wish I had made the "pond" bigger it probably would look better. I made the water by freehand cutting the blue cardstock that came in the kit and then used a light blue pen to doodle ripples.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Ducky Congrats

I wanted to make a baby card. I wanted to make a unisex baby card. This is what I ended up with! Green is a good unisex color, isn't it?

Everything is from my July 3 Little DReaMs kit. I love the shimmery paper that came in the kit by SEI. However, it is a bit hard to photograph! :) I tied a small length of the ribbon through the polka dot button but left the rest "naked"! And I decided to use some of the green cardstock for the base of the card instead of the white cards that come with the kit. Just for fun! There is seriously so much you can do with these kits. Do I sound like an infomercial yet?! Sorry, I just really like my kit! :)

And now the question of the day-
How did I color my images? Are you ready? Are you stumped? Did you guess correctly?

I used BIC Mark-it permanent markers! I found this tutorial the other day and figured I'd give it a try since I already had the markers. And it worked! It was so easy. I didn't heat emboss all of them. I just used Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. It's my all time favorite black ink. I had some smudging but not bad. I'm just lazy and don't like to emboss but I did emboss the duck image. Just a few suggestions from my experience- Make sure you use a good thick white cardstock if you don't want to use watercolor paper. And if you are using a yellow marker, make sure you do heat emboss your image first. For some reason the yellow makes the black ink bleed really bad. If you don't mind embossing, that is definitely the way to go!

So there you have it! Now for the winner!
Since NO ONE guessed correctly, I put everyone in.

Turtle-rific!

Here is the second card I made from my 3 Little DReaMs kit.

The only thing not in the kit is the white grosgrain ribbon. I colored over the water with my clear glaze pen(seriously love that thing, so handy!) and used my trusty Coluzzle to cut out the ovals. I went around the green oval with my old-school scallop scissors. I'm taking a stand and not buying the Nestabilities! Well, someday I might break down and get them, but not anytime soon!

Here is a close up of the water-

Ready for your tip today? It involves the Coluzzle, this is something I love to do with my clear stamps!

When you are cutting out a shape with the Coluzzle and want your sentiment(or borders work too) to follow the same direction as your cut, use your Coluzzle template for a block!

Just bend the stamps (love that about clear stamps) to fit the shape the way you want! That is how I got my sentiment above my turtle. The turtle in the water is one stamp and the sentiment is another, but I wanted them on the same oval piece. I cut the paper on the third oval, so I just lined up my stamp right inside that line. I also used a permanent marker to make the different lines different colors so I could see easier where I was cutting. Easy-peasy! I hope that makes sense! If you have any questions, just ask!

Oh hoppy day!

I got my July 3 Little DReaMs kit in the mail over the weekend. So much fun stuff!

Here is the first card I made with my new goodies. Everything on this card is from the kit. How cool is that? I am loving this Pond Pals stamps set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, so stinkin' cute! I'll have more to show you from the kit in a day or two!

Olivia Owl

Here is another card from my DT submission.

I just love Olivia! She's so cute. Not to be confused with the Olivia books. Because she's cute too, but she's a pig. Anyway, I used PTI Lavender Moon ink around all the edges to soften them up a bit. The patterned paper is from the new Crate paper line, Sweet Branch.

So, the dentist was fine. I put on my big girl panties and dealt with it! LOL! Actually it wasn't too bad. My jaw is a little sore but other than that, I'm alright! Thanks for everyones encouraging words, both about the dentist and my design team position. You guys are awesome!

Have a great weekend!
