Last week of July Viva la Verve...

July week 5s Viva la Verve sketch {twist} was to incorporate texture. I decided to add some fabric. That's texture-ish, right? And for good measure I also used some orange textured cardstock, some super wide stripey ribbon and some ric-rac. Too much texture? :)

Alright, I'm off. It's been a busy weekend and I'm way behind on everything- housework, email, grocery shopping, blog reading... like I said. Everything. :)

Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

Happy Anni-VERVE-sary!

Welcome to the first ever official Anni-VERVE-sary Blog Hop. Verve turns two today and we’re celebrating with a hop, hop, hop! The party kicked off over on the Verve blog, so if you’ve just happened along, be sure to hop on over there to start from the beginning! And to make this party a real shindig, there’s a mystery jackpot hidden at one of the stops along the hop. One lucky commenter on that blog will win Verve’s entire August release! But of course, it wouldn’t be a mystery if you knew which blog, would it? So if you’re feeling the love, give a little shout out to the bloggers in the hop and you just might have a reason to jump for joy!

I used Verve's Grateful Elegance set for this card. The base of the card is SU! Basic Gray cardstock and the patterned paper is also SU! Under the patterned paper is a layer of shimmery white paper I picked up at Archiver's and punched with the Fiskars Upper Crest border punch. The flowers are stamped on the shimmery paper in SU! Basic Gray ink. I cut them out and added some Liquid Pearls to the center of each flower. Popped them up on dimensionals and added some ribbon to match. Lastly I stamped the sentiment in SU! White Craft ink and after it was dry I went over it lightly with a glitter pen to make it sparkle a tiny bit.

This card was ridiculously hard to photograph! I hope with my lengthy explanation you get an idea of what it looks like in real life. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by! Now it’s time to hop on over to Susan’s blog(www.susiestampalot.blogspot.com), for a little more Verve-y goodness.

July Viva la Verve- week 4

Week 4's sketch had a {twist} of vellum. I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even know where my vellum was! I found it though. :) I stamped snowflakes from Winter Wonder Remixed on the vellum in PTI's Vintage Cream and Scarlet Jewel inks. Pulled out a metal tag rim to frame it and got to add a Christmas card to the stash. Go me! I think this is the first one I've made this year. If I was smart I'd be doing Sparkle's weekly challenges. But I'm not. :)

Tomorrow is Verve's Anni-VERVE-sary blog hop and I'm all signed up, so make sure you come back for that!

Thanks for stopping by, have a super Friday!

Viva la Verve- I'm addicted!

Here is my card for the Viva la Verve sketch with a {twist} of score lines. I just used my ScorPal and made a grid pattern then sanded it lightly. Cardstock is all PTI and the patterned paper is a new K&Co pad I picked up at Michaels awhile ago.

Thanks to everyone for your congrats on my new venture! I'm excited and still a little nervous but it's definitely been fun!

Viva la Verve- Week 2

The second week of July brought a new sketch with a new {twist}. This weeks {twist} was to use either the Poppin' Pastels technique or the Burned Batik. I chose Poppin' Pastels. I started with a piece of Basic Grey paper from the Wisteria pad that had a subtle pattern. I stamped a couple of the flowers from Miracles Blossom on it in Versamark and then went over them with some bright pink chalk. Added some more BG paper, this time from the Porcelain pad. Stamped my sentiment from Floral Symphony, cut it out added a ribbon border. A bit more pink ribbon, a Doodlebug Paper Frill, a white button and I was done. Schwoo! :)

And I'd like to tell everyone thanks for laughing at me yesterday! At least it all turned out ok. And for those of you who don't know what an earwig is- Wikipedia. Ewwww.

Also the boys had their Dr appt yesterday. For now Owen doesn't need to go to the ENT Specialist. Our pediatrician thinks that he didn't have 3 ear infections in 6 weeks like it seemed but rather had one long lasting one that the antibiotics weren't taking care of. So for now we wait. Until he gets another ear infection. And pray he doesn't. :) And Adam of course is perfect. Can I say that about my kid? LOL! He's totally healthy and we're very thankful!

I think that's all. I'm off to the store, lots of errands to run today!
Thanks for stopping by, hope your day is fabulous!

CBCC #39- Color Challenge!

The Created By Courtney Challenge is back! This week your challenge is to make something using the colors Ruby Red, Old Olive, More Mustard and Perfect Plum.

I decided to go easy and let my paper do all the work for me!

The paper is all from Imaginisce(it's retired now). I sanded it and distressed all the edges. Here is a close up of all the edges. Can I just tell you how covered I was in little bits of paper fuzz?!

The sentiment is from Verve. The layout is the Viva la Verve sketch for the second week of June. I'm hoping to do all the sketches for June, but we'll have to see. :)

Make sure you check out the other chicks creations. Their links are on my sidebar. On the left side. This weeks keyword is CBCC39. And sadly we say goodbye to one of our chicks- Maria G. :( We'll miss ya girl!

Alright, I'm outta here! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

More Verve...

I made this card for the Viva La Verve sketch the first week of May. Yep, a month ago! I was planning on doing all the sketches for the month, but well, that didn't happen. :)

The photo is kind of washed out, I need to come up with a better set up. Sigh. Oh well. The patterned paper is DCWV- Sweet Stack and the stamps are all Verve. The top of the cupcake is covered in Ranger Dimensional Pearls- Espresso. I think it makes yummy looking chocolate frosting. Mmmmm, frosting....

Stampin' Out Alzheimer's!

Have you joined in the fun at Stampin' Out Alzheimer's yet? There's still time! Just a donation (as small as $5) will get you access to all the fun challenges! I even made it super easy to do, there's a donation box over on my side bar! Alzheimer's is a very, very important cause to me. Very, very dear to my heart.

Anyway, this is a card for the Mojo Sketch Challenge over at SOA. The image is Verve, patterned paper is Basic Grey Blush and the ink, cardstock and buttons are all PTI.

Thanks for stopping by, I'll have more to post from the SOA challenges all week!

Fun Is Good!

Look, I finally made something! :)

This is for the Verve sketch challenge for the May release, happening tonight!
Here is the sketch and all the info on Julee's blog. I found this cute monkey paper the other day at my LSS. It's Sassafras from the Bungle Jungle line and I love it! Don't those monkeys look like they're having so much fun?! Anyway, I loved the paper too much to cover it up so my card is kind of a simplified version of the sketch. :)

I think we are all finally healthy for a day or two(knock on wood) so hopefully I'll be back to posting more! Thank you all for your get well wishes, I really appreciate them!
Thanks for stopping by!

CBCC #37 May Flowers

This weeks challenge is to use flowers!

I figured I'd go ahead and use the colors from last week since I never got around to doing a card. The sentiment is from Verve- Beautiful You. The cardstock is all SU! and the shape is a Quickutz die. Punched some flowers, cut some leaves and I was done!

This weeks keyword is CBCC37 if you upload to SCS or PCP. Be sure to link back to Courtney's blog for a chance to win a prize. And make sure you check out the other chicks creations!

CBCCTuesday # 16- Bagalope

Ok... I... umm.... I had to Google bagalope(hanging my head in stamping shame). I'd never heard of it before let alone made one. But I found some directions at Splitcoast and came up with this-

It was made from a regular A2 envie. Notice the wonky corners. And the poor stamping job. But look at that ribbon!

Ok, so then my OCD kicked in and I made this-

Much better. I used my new Verve stamps- Winter Wonder. This was my first order from Verve(I also got Cupcake Affair and Beautiful You) but I'm certain it will not be my last! This envie was 6x6 and I used Papertrey Ink colors. The ribbon is Sea Mist from Ribbons and Bows Oh My and it matches the Ocean Tides color almost perfectly.

If you make a bagalope with us this week, link back to Courtneys blog and be sure to use keyword CBCC16 if you upload on SCS. Also be sure to check out what the other "chicks" have done, they always blow me away.

Thanks for stopping by! :)
