Advice needed.

Nothing crafty to show. But I want your opinions. Here are some questions for you to ponder. Feel free to leave a comment or email me.

Should I get a Cuttlebug? I posted a poll over there-------->
Here is my dilemma. I want one. Really bad. But I feel selfish getting one. DH has already said OK. Adam wants me to get one so he can play with it. Owen doesn't care. But he really likes to say "cuttlebug". Shouldn't I use the money on something more practical? Like groceries? Clothes for the boys? Bills? Or do I just do it because I'm worth it?!? LOL! OK, maybe not worth it, but it sure would be fun to have! Courtney, are you rolling your eyes yet? I've bugged Courtney about a billion times with various questions about the Cuttlebug. Yes, I am a dork. And yes, I am OK with that. :)

I need to rethink my 12x12 paper storage. I have tons of it. Right now the system I have is OK, but I noticed this week some of my paper is getting faded on the top(I have it stored vertically) from the light. I would rather not go back to horizontal because it is easier for me to see what I have this way. What do you do? Do you like it? Hate it? Any suggestions?

Now I realize in the big scheme, these things are really not all that important. However, I'm a tad OCD and this is what is occupying my mind at the moment. Plus, it keeps me from fixating on all the other stuff. That I won't go into here. Because you are here for craftiness, not whiny-ness.

And one more, but this one is not a crafty question-
If a person wanted to work on her spirituality and perhaps read some scriptures, where does one start? At the beginning, meaning the first page? Or somewhere else? Be kind. Or not.
That's why I moderate my comments. :)

Thanks for reading this far(if anyone has). Now, I promise to have something crafty to show soon. But first, I'm going to try and get some sleep. And tomorrow is grocery day. Because I didn't get it done today. :)
Goodnight!

Oh, girl, I think my eyes got stuck. LOL!

I totally understand your delimma. You have Crafters Guilt. (I don't know if that's really a term, I just made it up.) But you feel like you could spend your $$ on more practical things than a crafting tool. Well, girl, let me say... if Momma ain't happy, nobody's happy... and that's more important than food. :)

Next, I'd say throw a small piece of cloth over your paper when you're done to protect it from the light. OR, I've seen people use those long, skinny priority mail boxes that you can get for FREE from the post office to hold their 12x12 papers. They just cut the long side down to size a bit and then cut a slant on the side so they can see what they've got.

And, finally, with spirituality... I'm headed to the local Christian General store today actually, and I'll pick you some stuff up... so watch your mailbox.

HUGS!!!

Just get the dang thing! :O)

Go to Robert's, use a coupon, and then you'll have 40% of the cost left over for groceries, or stuff for the boys. . .(it's all about justification)

About scripture reading - not much help there. One thing that I found though is that if I read the picture scripture book with my kids, I'd NEED to know more about the story, so I would read from my scriptures that same story either before or after, and could share more details with my oldest. And sometimes I'd get sucked in and read for a really long time.

I got mine Cuttlebug from Michael's with 50% off coupon, I just got one by email, if you need me to forward it to you let me know. It cost me only $40.
As for the spiritual question, if you haven't read the bible before start with the gospels (matthew, mark, luke and john), my fav is the book of Phillipians and 2 Corinthians. But do not start from the beginning, whenever I started from the beginning I always got stuck on the beginning. LoL

I am all for the cuttlebug! I love mine!

Seriously you need to buy it. How often do you buy yourself something, if you are like me I always spent on the kids first and then food stuff. Sometimes food is essential but your sanity is much more important.
I want some of those bug cards too.

Love ya lots

PS: on the scripture thing. reading the children scripture books is a great way to start, pictures always helped me. I have also found that if you pick a subject from the topical guide and start learning about that subject it helps alot too.
Love ya

Wow lots of comments! I have a suggestion My mom who forgot to mention this above has these sweet like cheater scriptures, I would start there, I am working on the same thing just not quite into the scripture things yet!
As for the Cuttlebug, YES for 3 reasons!
1- I love you and thats a good enough reason
2- Your cards will only approve I don't think they can get worse,
3- Your hubby said yes, that might just get him out of a romantic date!
one reason not to I will have to spend more money on cards
LOVE YA!

If you have a pasta maker you do not need a cuttle bug! I use mine and it works like a charm. Just buy the embossing folders for the cuttlebug and put it through the machine and when you are done, cook your DH some wonderful pasta and tell him how much money you saved!!

Hi Dani, I found you through Courtney and love your blog! And, I agree with her, you ARE suffering from crafter's guilt (I think it IS a real disease, I will ask my dh, he is a doc - lol!) but hey, every now and then you have to treat yourself and I say go for it!! As for the paper, I use some 12x12 plastic trays that I got at Michaels and Joanns for like $3 apiece and they work just fine! It sounds like Courtney has got you covered in the spiritual area *smiles* - I will be back often to check out your creations!!! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
